THE FUNERAL. (Per Press Association.] NAPIER, June 10. The funeral of tho late Mrs. G. P. Donnelly took place at Omaha to-day, and was verv largely attended. in© local tribes were in strong force and representative Maoris from Ilotoiua, Gisborne, Wairoa. Taupe, King Country and the West Coast of the North Island also took art in the ceremonies. During the forenoon the usual Maori observances took place, and speeches of condolence were made by Messrs Douglas McLean. C. P. bkerrett Jas. Coates, A. L. D .Fraser, and others. The Maori chiefs, in reply, expressed their appreciation {of the sympathy shown by the European visitors. Hie Church of England funeral service was conducted by the Bishop of Maiapu, assisted bv ten European and Maori clergymen. Tjhe whole proceedings were most solemn and impressive, and there were many tributes to the memory of the deceased ladv. Among the numerous wreaths were one from Sir Joseph and Lady Ward and another from the Prime Minister and his colleagues.
