While the Auckland ambulance -was proceeding down Khyber Pass convoyino- a patient suffering from appendicitis°to the hospital the horse bolted and dragged the vehicle over the embankment” The driver was unseated and thrown heavily to the ground. Ho received a nasty scalp wound, besides broken ribs and sundry shin bruises. The patient was apparently uninjured, and the vehicle escaped with only minor damage.
