MOTET. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Alotu people are determined to have trout in the various streams around their district and with that end in view they are. obtaining 30,000 ova from R-otorua. Mr C. Hansen has undertaken the supervision of the ova until such time when the fry are ready for distribution into the various selected waters. ... Wild dogs have been causing tho Alotu sheepfarmers some anxiety lately. Sheep and lambs have been worried on most of the sections abutting on to the unoccupied Mangatu country. A settler at Maru moke was fortunate enough to shoot one of tlio dogs last week. Last Saturday the Alotu Rifle Club was resuscitated, .seventeen ’'members were enrolled at tlie. meeting. Air P. TVright was elected President, Air L. .Elliott Captain, and Air. J. Stewart Vice-Captain. An official inspection of the corps takes place in .July.
