There was fine weather, with a big attendance, to-day at tlie first day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s winter meeting/ The sum of £6045 was passed through the totalisator, as compared with £6253 on the first day last year, a decrease of £IOB. Seventeen bookmakers, at a fee of £2l 10s each, were licensed. The following were the results: —
