A YOUNG CRIMINAL
CAUGHT BURGLARISING. [Per Press Association.] new PLYMOUTH, June 16, Last evening a youth named Thomas 'Archibald met with an unpleasant surprise. Early in the morning, at a quarter to 2 o’clock, Constable Flana-o-ah on duty in Brougham street, near th 4 railway station, noticed soincoiio from near t&6 back portion ot the Union Steam Ship Company s offices carrying & ©ash-box, run across. Brougham street, and attempt to* sea e the fence dividing the railway yards from the* street. The constable was too quick for him, and seized lnm before he was over the fence. He, proved to be Thomas Archibald, a pale-faced youth, just over 16 years of age, who arrived in New Plymouth from Onehunga on Friday last. He was brought before Mr H. S. Fitzlierbert S.M., and charged with breaking and entering the counting house of the Union St©am Ship Company, and stealing a cash-box, valued at 1 5s, and 14s Id., the property of the Union Company, with £4 /s Id belonging to Mr J. Neal the company s acting manager at New Plymouth. Accused was remanded to Monday to enable the police to make enquiries concerning him. _
