MEETING OF TARANAKI CO

(Pee Press Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, June 1

An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Taranaki Petroleum Company was held yesterday afternoon. An announcement was made that the directors and delegates representing outside shareholders had arrived at a compromise to the effect that a sufficient number of the present directors should retire, to allow of the election of two directors to represent Auckland shareholders and one to represent Wellington : also that Mr Berry Should again become a director, the chairman to be elected from outside members. This was agreed to. and a vote cf confidence was passed in the directors and manager.
