West of Scotland in their second innings scored 144. ; The Australians .won by an innings and 188 runs. The weather was fine, and the attendance numbered ’6OOO. ("The* latest Australian score, though big, is not a record for colonials. Sussex have, suffered twice ill games with them'. In 1899 the Australians at Brighton “declared” with 624 for four wickets. In 1905 they closed with 609 for four against Somerset at Bath. Other big.scores are 643 against Sussex i.n 1882, 625 against.
