CARGO BROACHING.
A SEAMAN CONVICTED. [Per pnrcss Association.] DUNEDIN, June 21. At the Citv Police Court to-day, before Mr. H. Y. Widdowson S.M., James Nicliolls, an A.B. on the barque Eakemßa, pleaded guilty to stealing nine bottles of stout from the foreho d of the vessel while at the whaif. lho captain said that the accused had gone there with an unprotected light, which was dangerous, and no doubt the practice had caused many fixes at Accused was committed for sentence. On a second charge of stealing 30 bottles of beer and 731 b of candles during the voyage from Wellington, to Dunedin, the accused pleaded guilty, and elected to be dealt with suinma. )■> - He was remanded until he had bee.i dealt with by tho Supreme Court, -*
