A FRENCH RACECOURSE RIOT.
SPECTATORS FIRE THE GRASS. MILITARY CALLED OUT. United Press Association —Copyright PARIS, June 21. A stablemen’s strike against non-re-cognition by trainers seriously delayed the Grand Steeplechase race at Auteuil. The spectators broke the barriers and set fire to the grass. They clamoured for the return of their money. The military repressed the rioters, several of whom were injured. The programme was ultimately fulfilled.
