BOWLING.

GISBORNE CLUB. Yesterday afternoon a game, in the concluding series for the Martin medals (handicap fours) was played on the green of the Gisborne Bowling Club between rinks skipped respectively by F A. Martin and Eure. The game was started at 1.30 p.m. Tho green was slightly heavy owing to-the rain in the morning, but nevertheless a very interesting game resulted. Tho following were the players and scores: Boult-oh, Hansen, 'E. Lewis, F. A. Martin (skip) (scr) 22, beat Kyme, Seymour,. Mackintosh, Eure (skip) (4) The game -was very evenly contested throughout. In tho earlier heads Martin had the advantage, and drew on an equality with his opponent. Thenceforward both rinks remained on practically level terms. On the 14th head the score was 15 all. An interchange of points followed, and on the. 19tn head the score stood at. 20 all. Martin crot one in on the 20th. head, and an exciting strugglo took place on the final head. When the last shot had been played it was a measure as to which P was “lying the shot.” The decision was in favor of Martin, who thus won the . match by two points. Tomorrow Martin’s rink will play Colson’s. Should the former be successful, they will win the competition. Should Corson be successful, he will have to play another game with Eure.
