MILITARY BALL.

THE EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES. The East Coast- Mounted Rifles eighth annual ball will bo held iu tbo Garrison Hall to-morrow evening and promises to be a great social success. The arrangements for the comfort of patrons are almost complete, and th« dancers will find they have been most liberally catered for. The music for the twenty-two dances on the programme. will be provided by the City Band and the music for the extras by Messrs Vita Bros.’ orchestra. Thu supper will be catered by Mr J. Erskine, and to make room for the tables the stage has been cleared and a portion of the floor space partitioned off. so that fully 300 persons can be accommodated at each sitting. Along the north side of the hall the ladies cloak and dressing rooms have been placed, while the cloak room for gentlemen will ho on the Gisborne side. The floor is being polished into splendid order, and the band stand has been placed in the centre of the hall, while two opposite corners will he furnished as drawing rooms for those who care to play cards. The ceiling has been decorated with flags,' and many other artistic details attended to. Dancing will commence at B’o’clock, and a number of distinguished officers are expected to bo present.
