POTATO RUST.

PREVALENT IN TASMANIA. TUBERS CONDEMNED IN SYDNEY United Press Association —Copyright SYDNEY, June 23. The prevalence of brown and dry rust in Tasmanian potatoes led to the Department of Agriculture, empowering inspectors to condemn tubers suffering 'from these diseases. This is having a considerable effect on the supply, and causing uneasiness regarding the future. Out of 15,000 bags which arrived on Monday, 2000 were condemned, and the inspection had not been completed. Local growers on the North Coast, who last year obtained seed from Tasmania, also find their crop seriously infested with rust.
