LEPROSY IN COOK ISLANDS
INCREASING TO AN ALARMING
EXTENT
SEVERE MEASURES NECESSARY

The. Secretary of the London Missionary Society reports that leprosy is increasing to an alarming extent, in Cook Islands, which is attributed to the ignorance and carelessness of the natives. The report adds: “Unless very severe measures are soon taken and strictly enforced all tlie islands will be full of disease, and the people will be doomed.
