MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
—: ' THURSDAY, JUNE 24. (Before Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M.) ADMITTED TO PROBATION. Henry Adams, ,wlio had been charged the previous day with the theft of a bracelet and remanded for sentence, was admitted to probation for three months. CIVIL CASES. David Dunlop (Mr. L. T. Burnard) proceeded against Georgo Robb (Mr. Coleman) to recover the sum of £l9, being the price of two bullocks alleged to have been sold by him to defendant. After hearing the evidence His Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff for £l2, with costs amounting to £2 15s. Judgment by default was given in the following civil cases: John Townley (Mi-. Colenian) v. Jas. Jos. Crosby, claim £l9 0s Id, and costs £1 17s 6d; William Townson v. William Walters, claim £1 13s 6d; Alpha Sawmills Cp-> Ltd. (Mr. Stock) v. Wm. Alexander Oman, diaim £9 15s 4d, and costs £1 6s 6d. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Evidence was taken in the adjourned •judgment summons case of the “Poverty Bay Herald” Company (Mr. T. A. Coleman) v. Wilson and Lilley, architects, claim for £7, balance of account. Mr. Coleman said that the evidence of the defendants was most unsatisfa His y Worship concurred with this view, but said that on the evidence he was unable to make an order. _ In the case of John Lionel Baker (Mr Hei) v. Pera Waaka, an order was made for the immediate payment of the debt and costs amounting to £ls 12s 6d, in default 16 days’ imprisonment, the order to bo suspended while the defendant pays the sum of 5s weekly, which lie undertook to do. ,
