NARROW ESCAPE FROM ACCIDENT. tPwn PIIKKS ASR 001 ATI ON. J, NAPIER, June 24. Til© Acting-Premier left Hastings for Wellington by the express train to-day. He was interviewed at Waipawa by a deputation, which urged that a chango was needed, in tlio interests of the country districts, in the composition of tlio Napier Harbor Board. After leaving the deputation, Mr. Carroll turned to step on to liis carriage, when he stumbled over a bag and nearly fed under the moving wneo’s. He was assisted up and helped on to the carriage, and appeared to have received only a shaking. WELLINGTON, June 24. The Acting-Premier returned from Hawke’s Bay to-night.
