The Minister cf Railways has given instructions to step the extra train between Auckland and Drury at the end of the month, on the ground that the expense is not j notified, but the ordinary suburban will be extended from Otahuhu to Papatoitoi. A proposal is under consideration to lay up the Hinemoa and to let the Tll- - do both cable and lighthouse work. Enquiries are being made as ta tlie possibility of taking stores overland to some of the lighthouses.
