The Wallace Street, car seemed to be in . trouble with its brakes. George Hancock, the motorman, lias his face cut by Hying glass. . A CHILD DROWNED. - ' BLENHEIM, July 1. A child named Ruby Constance Bright, 3' -ears of age. was drowned in the Awatere, river this morning. ; trar> containing Mr. Bright,. his' wife, and three children, was crossing the river, when it capsized. All but Ruby get safely ashore. ; .The latter was sweat away and drowned.
