DEPUTATION FROM HOTEL AND RESTAURANT KEEPERS. ANTI-SOCIALIST MEETING HELD IN PROTEST. 1 United Press Association —oopyrigiit. LONDON, June (30. Hotel and restaurant keepers in London met and urged Mr Lloyd- , George to tax them on the purchases of liquor the same as clubs, instead of on the--annual value. Mr W. H. Long, member of the JTouse of Commons, was the chief speaker at a meeting of the Anti-So-cialistic Union, which strongly condemned the Budget. The Duke of Devonshire presided. Many peers -and members of the House of Commons were present. Lord Cromer, addressing the Union:ist .Free Trade Club, denied that the Budget was the only alternative to tariff reform. He remarked that free trade was being stabbed'in the back by the Government, which came to office pledged to the hilt to defend it. London publicans raise the price of ‘beer to-morrow by id per- pint.
