CYCLING.

MAIvAURI ROAD RACE. The Makauri road race took place yesterday, and resulted as follows: S. Aston (6min), time 42min, 1; F. 'Smale (4-jmin), time 40min 47sec, 2; A. Sutton (6min), time 43mm, 3; F. King (scr), time 36min 45sec (fastest time). Anderson (2), Huston, Daulton, Edwards, Morris, and Mawhinney Avere scratched, and thirteen started. The roads Avere -very bad., but only one aocident took place, A. G. Anderson, in coming up to take bis lap opposite Mr. Henry White’s place, was severely thrown. He Avas slightly cut, and received a good deal of gravel rash. The race Avas very well contested, the •scratch. inert especially having a hard race. Whitehead was unfortunate to lose his strap at the start, and AA r ent off scratch with King, whom he heat home by a length.
