Writing to the editor of the Christchurch “Press,” under date May 11, Mr W. Acton Adams, ‘formerly a sta-' tion-owner in North Canterbury, and now residing in London, says:—“Dining last night at Princess; Gardens, uidon, X was disoussinr N..w Zealand affairs with luentonant-Co'cnel King, lately appointed adjutant for the Territorial district of Wales. Referring to the offer ‘of New Zealand to contribute a Dreadnought to the British Navy, ho*said that paving some money to invest lately, and to shew his appreciation of this offer, he instructed his broker to buy New Zealand funds. .The broker wrote hack that he had received similar instructions from three other' clients, each having given the same reason, and that in consequence New Zealand stocks had risen in value. .
