Waikare, South, v July IS. VESSELS IN PORT. Star- of Scotland, in the bay. The U.S.S. Co/s Talune arrived from South early on Saturday morning, and left again for Auckland later. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tarawera, which iliould have left Auckland at noon on Saturday for Gisborne and South, was postponed until 5 p.m.. owing to heavy weather. At that hour she was further postponed until midnight, but owing to a very , heavy fog she did not finally leave until 5.30 a.m. yesterday. She is expected here about 7 o’clock this naorning, and will be. tendered on arrival ami at 9 -30 a*m., after which she proceeds south. The U.S.S. Co.’s Flora and Squall were also delayed in Auckland owing to the unfavorable weather conditions, and did not get away until 9 a.m. yesterday for Coast ports and Gisborne_. The U.S.S. Co/s Wairuna left Timaru at 10 p.m. on Saturday for Gisborne with a quantity of produce, She will not call in at Napier as was originally intended, and her cargo for that port will be tranship tied here. The barquentine Pelotas left earl} 7 dm Saturday morning for Whangaroa in sand ballast, -where she will load timber for Sydney. Messrs Richardson and Co.’s Ruru completed discharging her cargo of railway sleepers on Saturday afternoon, and returned to Wellington. The auxiliary schooner Kaeo sailed yesterday afternoon for Coast ports tirid Auckland. The Tyser liner Star of Scotland is still in the bay. Loading operations have been hindered owing to the weather, but it is hoped to despatch, her this evening or to-morrow morning for Wanganui. The U.S.S. Co.’s Monowai arrives from South on Wednesday morning, and sails later for Auckland. The U.S.S. Co.’s Talune returns from Auckland on Wednesday afternoon, and sails in the evening for Southern ports. The following passengers have hooked to leave by the Tarawera for South this morning:—For Napier: Mrs Jacks; Messrs Jacobs. Daniel, Gordon, Easton, Chattorton. Evelyn, Pallant, Rome, Dayman, Hamilton, Hitch man, Crabtree, Halford, Sharpin, Haldof, Scoon r Tift'en, Massie, Drummond; and Judge Jones. For Wellington: Mr. McKenna. For Lyttelton: Miss Cabot. For Dunedin: Miss Motion. A further development of v the overmens trade of Nek-on (says the “Colonist”) is indicated by the announcement that a steamer of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, Limited, will leave I;ondon early in September, and will include Nelson in her ports of call. Messrs J. H. Cock and Co. have received cable advice that the steamer will he despatched on condition that ant less than 1000 tons of Nelson cargo is.' provided for her; and as there will he no difficulty in fulfilling this condition with the willing support of local importers, tu ; e steamer may be regarded as fixed to sail at that date-.
