An address and a piece of plate has been presented to Mr. Darroeh, chief officer of the Ulimaroa, by a number of passengers in recognition of his bravery in saving a passenger who fell into the water at Wellington on the last trip. “Man overboard” was the cry raised ®n the Queen’s Wharf, Wellington, the
other evening, a little while before tho Ulimaroa left for Sydney. A man named William Graham was reaching'over the gangway to farewell a friend, but., unfortunately, reached too far, and fell into the water. The chief officer of the "Ulimaroa, Mr. Darroch, noticing, the occurrence, rushed to the gangway, dived in, and helped the man out: A line was lowered, from the wharf, and rescuer and rescued were drawn up little the worse for their immersion.
