[To. the Editor.] Sir, —Would you kndly allow me to enquire through the medium of your 'paper-why it is that hiDor is being imported from Auckland lor the construction of the Government Railway here, when there are so many unemployed 'in this toAA’ii of Gisborne, anxious for, and willing to work, il : they could only get it? lam told by several that they cannot get work on the line, yet .no reason is given as to Avhy they should not have as equal a rio-ht to the work as the people from other parts. 1 Hoping somebody will be kind enough to explain this state of affairs, not alone for my interest, but for the innumerable unemployed.—l am, etc., “ ENQUIRER.”
