THE LATEST RETURNS

[Pick Prkss Association.] WELLINGTON, July 7.. Tho Hon. J. A. Millar. .acting-Miu-ister of Finance, states that the revenue for the quarter ended June 30th last amounted to £1,826,597, showing a net increase of £34,678 as compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. •Railways were responsible for an increase of £92,338, and land and income tax £4063, Customs show an increase of £38,085, stamps £22,598, and territorial revenue £20,365. For the year ended June last the. revenue totalled £9,035,863, or £26,975 less than the revenue for the year ended June, 190 S. Among the increases railways represent £lß3,loand land and income, tax £90,151: Customs returns for the year were less by 0259,554, -and territorial revenue -was loss by £94,113.
