The following passengers have hooked passages by the Wimmera leaving tins morning for the North:—For Auckland: Misses Bain (2); Me&dames Cunningham, Pitt, Hansen. Gardner Fitzell and infant, and Trcloar; Messrs Ounningha m, Gliampion, O’ Conn or, Wa 1ker Bain, Hall, Pope, Siloy, Hodge, Plodder, Elley, McMaster, Maynard, McMillan, Coates, Jackson, Hansen, Sale, McMillan, Gardner, and S warbrick. For Sydney.: Messrs A\ indred, Jeffreys, Treloar, Smith, Evans, and Brewer. The U.S.S. Co.’s Monowai arrives from Auckland to-morrow afternoon. The Tuatea leaves the wharf on arrival and at 5 p.m. The U.S.S. Co.’s Squall did not get away on Thursday night but the sheep having been replaced she sailed at 9.45 yesterday morning. The U.S.S. Co.’s Flora, which will proceed from Wellington to Picton, will then probably be despatched back to Wellington to relieve the northern, steamer by taking the passengers arriving from London by the Atheiiic. She is to arrive in Gisborne on Wednesday, when she will leave for 'Hast Coast ports and Auckland. The schooner Awanui is weather-bound at Tairua. where she has been lying since Monday awaiting a chance to sail. The Atlienic, which left Hobart at daylight yesterday morning, is due in Wellington on Tuesday next. The direct steamer to Sydney from Wellington on the 16th is to be the Warrimoo. The Union Co.’s Flora is expected to leave this port about Wednesday for East Coast Bays and Auckland. Mr. Cyril Corliss, formerly of Dunedin, son of Mr. P. C. Corliss, Deputy Stamp Commissioner at Dunedin, is sixth engineer of the big Cunarder Mauretania. Mr. Corliss, who is only 26 years of age, learned his trade in the workshop of Messrs Joseph Sparrow and Son, Dunedin. He was formerly on the Federal-Houldcr-Shire liner Surrey. About 18 months ago he joined the Mauretania as fourteenth engineer, and has since worked his way up the scale.
