RUSSIAN MINING DISASTER
AN EXPLOSION OF GAS. MANY LIVES LOST. United Press Association —CorYßianx. (Received July 12, 10.10 ip.m.) LONDON, July 12. An explosion of gas in the Makewaka mine, in the Don district of Russia, entombed many miners. Fourteen corpse® have been recovered and ten injured men brought to the surface. Rescue work is proceeding.
