H.B. EDUCATION BOARD.
YESTERDAY’S MEETING. (Special to “Times.”) NAPIER, July 12. The following matters were dealt with at the meeting of the Education Board to-day: Rakauroa. —Mr. Darton’s report was adopted, and an expenditure of £5 was authorised for fencing. To Ivaraka.—A four feet iron fence was authorised, Mr. Darton to report on the drainage. ' Painting of Kaitaratahi School. —Application declined. Tho Board refused to recommend the Department to subsidise the cost ol attendance medals for the Gisborne School. . , , . , The Education Department lias deferred the consideration of a. grant for additions at Waorenga-a-lnka, and declined to make a grant for a teacher s reside lice at Port Awanui. The Board authorised furniture for the Railway School at Willow Crossing. The Board appointed Mr. E. G. Lpten instructor in agriculture and dairying. He is at present specialist in nature study and agriculture at Blackfriars, Sydney. Thirtv-nino applications were received for the position of foreman of works. The final selection was left ill the hands of the Chairman and Messrs Grant, UcLernon, and Darton. Mr. Charles Boland,-of Gisborne, was appointed.
