The French Chamber, despite argument by several deputies that France was giving Canada the benefit- in the minimum tarilt ot too many articles, almost unanimously ratified the French Canadian Conuno.rcial Convention as slightly modified in the Senate. M. Cruppi, Minister of Commerce, emphasized the advantages ox the Convention. especially in the matter of vines and silks. .»o declared that the rejection would me in the application of the general tariff to French products.
