The committee of the telegraph administrations transmitting telegrams via the East and via Teheran, between Britain, India, Australasia', and South Africa,, has unanimously resolved that, provided the British, Indian, and colonial Governments are prepared to take their rateable share of the reduction, the press rate between Britain, India, Australasia, and South Africa tiha.ll be reduced to 9d a word on August Ist. The “Times” says that there is every reason to believe that pi ess tele—grame to Australia, both by the Pacific and Eastern telegraph, cables, will be reduced to 9d at a very early date.
