The s.s. Monowai arrives from South this morning, and sails later for Auckland. ThcTuateais timed to leave the wharf at 6 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. The U.S.S. Co.’s Taljuno returns from Auckland this afternoon; and sails South during the evening. The time for the tender to - leave the wharf has not yet been decided upon, but probably owing to the state of the river there will only be one launch at 7 p.m. The Westport Coal Co.’s Regulus arrived in the bay yesterday morning with a full cargo of coal. She is at present in Australian waters. Word’ has been received from Westport that the Taviuni’s stern has been raised about 10ft, and caulking in that part of the vessel is now proceeding. Mr. J- Daniel, the Union Company s superintendent of repairs, proceeds to Dunedin to consult with the management as to whether the necessary repairs to the steamer will be made before launching, or whether she will be towed to Wellington or Dunedin. The.weight of the Taviuni is estimated an 1/UU tons, and therefore the work done to shift lier will to some extent be realised.
