LONDON WOOL SALES
United Pjiess Association— CopYiiiGniLONDON, July 20. The wool sales have closed firm at late rates.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., yesterday received the hallowing cablegram from their London office, under date Julv 20:—“Wool sales: 16,000 bales woM held over; 134,000 bales wool sold at series; 52,000 bales wool for Continent. Sales closed with good competition, 9000 bales being taken for America. ’ ! "he sales closed firmly to-day. America is operating freely. As compared with last sale’s closing rates, prices are about par to o per cent, lower for crossbred lambs and medium greasy crossbred and fine crossbred slipe ;about 74 per cent, to 10 per cent, lower for coarse crossbred slipe, and medium crossbred slipe and coarse crossbred wool, shabby and wasty: and about the same for fine crossbred and lambs'* wool. Average current London values of the undernoted descriptions of New Zealand greasy wools: Good merino 144 d, medium do lid, inferior do 9d, fine crossbred ldd, medium do lid, coarse crossbred (40’s) Sid, coarse do (36’s) 74d, crossbred shabby and wastv 64d.”
