THE NEW ALPINE MINE

(Special to “Times.”) GREYMOUTH, July 22, The New Alpine mine manager reports for the week ending 20th July as follows:— During the week alittle driving was done in extending No- 10 level north and south. , Total north 120 ft total south 73ft. In the north end there is a strong body of ore, hut v o are just taking out the width of the drive from the hanging wall reef. On the south end there is no defined body, onlv boulders of stone. Stopes: In No. 4 stope the reef is I-ft, No. o stope, 13ft; No. 6 stope, north l3ft No. 6 stope, south, 2ft Lin , No. stope, north, the reef is broken, but there is 9ft of reef in three different., places; No. 7 stope, south, reef 9*t. Two hundred and forty-three-tons were paddocked, making a total of 449 tons. \Vo havo made a start to put some fillinor into the leading stopes, so as to make the stope secure, as we get veij little filling during stopmg. ,:,k, ’ .
