The gold yield last year was 721,220 ounces, of a gross valuo of £2,850,000 a decrease of 33,050 ounces, mainly owing to the closing of some of the deeplevel mines. Victoria’s output since the discovery of gold is 66,464,132 ounces, of a value of. £282,000,000. Mount Lyell returns for June 17 to July 14th (inclusive) show that 29,555 tons of ore were treated, also seven tons of purchased ore. The converters produced 680 tons of blister copper, containing copper 671 tons; silver, 54,111 ounces; gold, 851 ounoes.
