The National Dairy Association is at present busily engaged testing the feeling of contributors to its Home agents’ fund with a view to appointing a successor to carry on the work of Mr Mackie, recently retired. The plan of operations consists of holding a series of meetings in the various dairying centres, at which delegates from each of the factories are present, and at which the subject is dealt with by members of the association’s board of directors. Already two such meetings have been held —one in Greytown and one in Palmerston, tlio latter taking place last week (says the “Standard”). As at Greytown, the meeting was almost unanimously in favor of carrying on the work started by Mr. Maclcio, and the directors are confident that the proposal will receive the support of a very large majority of the members of the association. ~lt is expected that the campaign will be finished next week, and then the rather , knotty quostion of Mr. Madvic’s successor will engage the attention of the association. As yet the directors are extremely reticent in referring to the matter, and there 'i.s mo indication as to '. who will be appointed to the position. - TUSSIOURA (Wild' Cherry Balm) never fails to give relief in cases of stubborn' coughs and colds, catarrh, etc. During the Franco-ucrmau war of 1870-71 eleven per cent, of tlio wounded German soldiers died; whereas in the Russo-Japanese war only throe per cent. died.
