Tho scow Waikonini arrived in the Bay on Thursday evening from the Bay of 'lslands, and was brought alongside the .wharf yesterday. Her cargo consists of> 58,000 ft of timber for Messrs Roacocke and Co. Tho vessel experienced very heavy weather in the vicmitv of East Cape. Messrs Richardson and Co. s Ruru arrived from Napier, via Mahia, yesterday afternoon, with a general cargo. She returns to Napier to-day. • The U.S.S. Co.’s Talune arrives from Soutli early this morning and sails later for Auckland. The Tuatea leaves the wharf at 6 a.m., but tho tide being unfavorable, the outward passengors will not leavo the wharf until noon, instead of 10 a.m., as usual. The U.S.S. Co.’s Tarawera returns from Auckland to-morrow afternoon, <and proceeds south during the evening. If possible, she will bo tendered on ■arrival, and with outward passengers at 5 p.m.. but the times are not yet definitely fixed for the launch to leave the wharf. . The Tyser liner Nerehana leaves Wanganui for Gisborne to-morrow, and should arrive here on Monday to finish iter loading of this port. The following passengers have booked to leave by the Talune for north this •morning: —For Auckland: Miss Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Birkott, and Mrs. Baker; Messrs Buchanan, Stevenson, Caldwell, Fabian, H. R. Harper, Takle A. H. Duncan, H. M. Johustono, E. v\. Burton, A. Widdison, and Fernandez. For fcjvdney: Mr. Black. "The Huddart-Parker Co.’s collier Moorabool has been delayed in Auckland, and is not expected to arrive at Gisborne until Monday. The Government steamer Hmemoa will not leave Wellington for her round trip to the southern lighthouses until next Tuesday. She will leave Wellington for Martin’s Bay to bring hank a ■party of men who were taken do-wn there by the Hinemoa about seven weeks ago for the purpose of blowing up some rocks which formed an obstacle at the entrance of the Hollyford river, a few miles to the north of Milford (Haven. A sawmill is being established near the river, and boats will now be jible to trade there. The Hinemoa is Hue back in Wellington on Sunday, "afid will leave Wellington on Tuesday for Lyttelton, en route to the Southern lighthouses and outlying island groups. It is announced that tho Tyser liner Indradevi is to load at New York for •Now Zealand ports, and will sail about August 31, via Melbourne and Sydney. The Ni'waru is to leave London on August 21 for Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand ports. Having considered the evidence taken at the preliminary inquiry into the alleged grounding of the Manuka (reported in southern papers) on a submerged rock at the Bluff, the Marino Department has decided that no further action he taken. It appears that no damage was done to the vessel.
