LODGE ABERCORN
INSTALLATION OF BRO. A. T
HOOKEY
The annual installation of officers of Lodge Abercorn, No. 76, N.Z., took place last night in the Masonic Hail, Childers Road. There was a very large gathering of the members of the crait, and several of the Grand Lodge officers were present. Tho installing master was M.W. Bro. Oliver iNicliolson, Pro. Grand Master, and the Director of Ceremonies was R.W. Bro. F. Kearsley, P.S.G.W. Bro. Alfred T. Hookey was installed as W.M., and the following aro the officers for the year:l.P.M., W. Bro. F. J. Lysnar; S.W., Bro. R. A. Mitchell; J.W., Bro. D. E. Leslie; Treasurer, W. Bro. C. H. Evans, P.M.; Secretary, W. Bro. G. T. Bull, P.G.D.; Organist. Bro. W. J. Barlow; D. of C., W. Bro. J. S. Allan: UiiapJain, Rev. Bro. W. Grant; S.D., Bro. T. Corson; J.D., Bro. F. J. Rowley; 1.G., Bro. W. F. J. Anderson; S. Steward, Bro. F. W. Riacli; J. Steward, Bro. B. Sewell; Tyler, Bro. J. Lentell. After the officers had been duly installed in their respective chairs, RAY. G. H. Powley, P.D.G.M., addressed the W.M.; R.W. Bro. Ivearsley, P.G.W., the Wardens; and M.W. Bro. M. Niccol, P.G.M., tho brethren. The working tools in the different degrees were given by W.M. Bro. H. A. Marriner, Lodge Ara, No. 1; Bro. R. Robertson, P.M. Lodge Turanganui; and Bro. T. Ellery, W.M. Lodge Montrose. The ode was given bv Bro. Mitchell, and a solo by Bro. Barlow. Tho presenting officers were Bros. C. H. Ambridge and T. Ellery. The orchestra rendered several selections, and consisted of Bros. J. H. Bull, Cuthbert, Barlow, Robertson, Brown, C. Adair, J. Chrisp, and Don. After the Lodge was closed the brethren adjourned to the lower hall, where a toast list was gone through. The following contributed songs: Bros. W. J. Barlow, R. A. Mitchell, H. McClymont, H. Kane, H. E. Hill, F. J. Rowley, Riacb. H. Grieve, recitations by W. J. Brown, E. R. Davis, and J. Fyson, and a cornet solo by Bro. J. Chrisp. The catering was in the hands of Mr. Clare, and was all that could be ■wished for.
