fPr.H Vwv.m Association.! 1 NAPIER, August 3. At a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board to-day. Mr. A. C.. Bennett, one of the members, submitted a statement in writing of_ w hat he ha I seen in nart of his district. A -ittlo tQ 0 the north of Napier, he said, the condition of the country was worse than he had expected. The reports o, th Board’s inspectors had not prepared him for such a state of affairs as he had observed as he was travelling through the country m question. He feared that the members or the Board did not realise to what an extent the pest was increasing and had spread, and how inadequate the present met.iods were for coping with the evi . He did not think the inspectors could be cal’ed an overworked body, ano he made suggestions for ensuring their spending more time in inspection work AUcr some discussion, it was agreed that Mr. Bennett should discuss the matter further with the chairman of the Board.
