INSURANCE AGAINST UNEMPLOYMENT. A COMPREHENSIVE SCHEME PROMISED. United Press Association— Copyright. (Received August 3, 9.55 p.m.) LONDON, August 3. Mr. Winston Churehill, speaking at Branksome Park, said that before Parliament ends, unless violently broken by a foul blow, an extensive measure of insurance against unemployment would be passed, based on the principle of workmen being able to make some little weekly sacrifice, to be joined by employers’ contributions and a Stato subvention. The Board of Trade is now •elaborating the scheme. He .added -that Mr. Lloyd-George will introduce :next year a scheme, working through the friendly societies, to enable householders to insure against sickness, invalidity, or death of a bread winner.
