WOOL SALES. The second annual wool sale for the season 1909 was held by the Gisborne Wool Brokers’ Association in the Farmers’ Union Club rooms yesterday. Seven buyers were present, and as the catalogues offered were unusually large the sale was not concluded until 5 p.m., the auctioneers being kept busy for the full three hours. All the lines offered were cleared, and prices generally were good, especially for hides, skins, and tallow, which showed a marked increase on last year’s quotations. Fleece wool sold up "to 6-]d per lb, lambs’ wool to 6|d, the top price; hides, to 26s each; and tallow to 21s per cwt.
