THE WEATHER

The following is the Rev. D. O. Bates’ weather forecast :Westerly winds strong to gale are probable generally, with unsettled weather in all parts and heavy rain, in Taranaki and on the west coast of the South Island. There are indications that the barometer will rise slowly in the south after a few hours. Conditions are unstable in the far north at present,, but the change cannot yet be defined, though a fall in pressure is a very likely contingency.
