Holmdale, 8.6* Nerehana, s.s., in the bay. The Tyser liner Nerehana, after having been delayed for several days at Wanganui, owing to bad weather, arrived in the Bay late on Wednesday night to complete her loading at this 1 The Maorilaiul S.S. Co.’s Holmdale arrived early yesterday morning from Grey mouth." She was bar bound at her loading port until midnight Sunday. Her cargo consisted of 87,000 ft of timber for Messrs Evans, Nield and Co., Cave Bros., and Black Bros. The. Huddart-Parlcer Co.’s Wimmera arrives from south early to-morrow morning, and proceeds north later. The U.S.S. Co.’s Monowa'i returns from Auckland on Sunday afternoon, and sails during the evening for south. The launch with outward passengers will leave the wharf at 7 p.m., instead' of 5 p.m., as usual. The U.S.S. Co.’s Squall legt Auckland yesterday afternoon for Tologa Bay and Gisborne. She is due at this port to-morrow morning, and to _ sail again for Auckland to-morrow night. "The U.S.S. Co.’s Wanaka was due to leave Bluff at 5 -p.m. yesterday for Oamaru, Timrau, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The U.S.S. Co.’s Hauroto reported on arrival at Auckland last Saturday morning that the British cruisers Flora and Cambrian called at Papeete on the 14th nit-., but as the Cambrian touched while coming out of the passage a few months ago when going to South America, both vessels went round to Valau Bay to coal from the Union Company’s steamer Rakanoa. The French gunboats Kersaint and Zelee wore at Papeete when the Hauroto loft there on the 19th ult. An English exchange states that the ’ damage done to the Woodburn is to be made good by the Russian Government. The Woodburn is _ a British steamer, 2360 tons gross register, built in 1900, and valued at £21,000. She was fired upon in the Baltic Sea two months ago by Russian warships. When recording the sale of the old hulk, Mo a, recently, a Dunedin exchange stated that; many years ago, when the Moa traded between Auckland and Sydney, she was in command of Captain Christian, now' of _ the Blackball Coal Co.’s service. This is not correct (says the “New Zealand Times”). It was the Moa, of Messrs Johnston and Co.’s fleet, that Captain Christian commanded. About 45 years ago, this latter Moa worked up and down the coast of this island, landing troops and stores for the Government at Patea, Opunakc, and other points. The steamer Dalhanna is now due at tlie Bluff to load grain and general cargo for Mr. G. H. Scales. An exchange states that when this steamer, inward bound from New York with a quantity of case oil, was proceeding up the river at- Brisbane preparatory to berthing, she collided with the wharf, owing, it is said, to her engines failing to respond. Seeing that there was ho move on the part of the engines, both anchors were let go, but too late to avoid a collision, and the vessel struck the wharf about midway, denting one of her plates on the starboard how Icose to the stem, and doing some damage to the wharf. The vessel w-as surveyed the next day. and the necessary repairs were carried out at tlie Queens-, land port. BY TELEGRAPH. fl’iui Prk.sh Association.] AUCKLAND, August 5.
