BARQUE RUNS AWAY WITH A TUG THE- TUG NEARLY DRAGGED UNDERNEATH. United Press Association— Copyright. (Received August 6, 12.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, August .5, The tug Irresistible had! a thrilling experience off Newcastle while towing the barque Antiope. A sudden gale arose, wit'll tremendous seas. The Antiope, .which was carrying considerable sail, raced away, swung the tug round, and buried her under the sea almost to the funnel. When the tug was stern under and on the point of capsizing,, the mate, with a hatchet, severed the lines. » The tug < righted herself, and reached Newcastle without the Antiope.
