Nasmith (junr.), and W. 0. Sheet (lion, sec.) A circular was read from the secretary of the Northern , Bowling Association, dealing with the notices of motion as given at tlio Association’s annual meeting last' month in favor of adopting the "open-door” policy at all future tournaments hold by tlio Association. The club was asked to give art expression of opinion on the question,- as the subject would be discussed at a* meeting of the Association on the 20th inst.—The members of the committee expressed themselves as opposed to the innovation, as its adoption would prevent tournaments being held at Gisborne and other smaller centres. A number of tenders wore received for painting the pavilion.—lt was unanimously resolved to accept tlie lowest tender, that of Mr. W. Other further improvements to the green were brought forward, but it was resolved to leave these matters over till tlie monthly meeting of the committee, to bo held on Friday evening next, at tho Record Reign Hotel.
