Artaxerxes, Eva, Dreadno llg lit, Biddy, ‘Westwood, Tho Diver, Calm, Waiohika, Blue Bell. Hunt Club Cup, 21 miles: Sultan, Artaxerxes, Eva, Dreadnought, Billy, Westwood. ‘Waiohika, Diver. Ladies’ Barcelet, 1J miles: Llangallan, Westwood, Yashmak, Mangaheia Waiohika, Gold Top, Artaxerxes. Open Handicap, 5 furlongs: Eiya, Te Raliui, Erin, Rakaiketeroa, Mura .Ahi, Pluck, Martyr King, Master Stead, Sublime. Pearl Reef, La Chef, The Raft, Masonic, Swarthmoor, Haurangi, Dazelein. Second Open Handicap, 6 furlongs: Eiya, Te Rahui, Ardfert, Rakaiketeroa, Mura Ahi, Pluck, St. Ludeam, Prestonpans, Sublime, Pearl Reef, The Raft. My Darling, Masonic, Swarthmoor.
MURIWAI RACING CLUB. The Muriwai Racing Club purposo holding a spring meeting in October. This will be the first meeting to he held under the rules of the Poverty Bay Unregistered Racing Clubs’ Association, and should attract greater attention than past meetings of the same class. It is felt that, under these rules, horse owners will have more confidence in the stewards and club generally, and that cleaner sport will bo attained. V.A.T.C STEEPLECHASE MEETING. {Jnitrd Press Association —Copyright (Received August 8, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 8. Tlie following are the results of the V.A.T.C. Australian Steeplechase meeting at Caulfield : Crimea' Trial Stakes, 6 furlongs Token 1, Queen of Scots 2, Belle Seibreicht 3. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 18fsec. Moondah Plate, 7 furlongs—Aberdeen 1, Socialist 2, Otus 3. Won by three lengths. Time. Imin 30-)sec. Australian Hurdio Raco, miles (less 92 yards): Night Light (Morgan) ... 1 The Sun (Ryan) 2 Louise (Ivoops) 3 There were 14 starters. Rogue’s March led the field over tho first hurdle, with the rest well bunched. The pace was slow. Rogue’s March and Fossil entered the straight together, attended bv Bribery, Enchanted States The Sun, and Louise. Bribery moved up and passed the judge’s box in tho van. Running past the mile and aquarter post, Fossil again took command. Kalmuck foil here and broke his neck. Bribery was apparently interfered with, and fell back. Running down the railway side The Sun ran up into second place. Night Light then moved up. Fossil and these two entered the straight together, two lengths m front of Dagoba arid Enchanted States. Night Light joined the leaders at the mile post. The Sun then went out on his own, and at seven furlongs had a lead of three lengths._ Enchanted States dropped back. Night Light and Fossil raced up to the leader, and hah-a-mile from home Fossil was leading from Night Light, with The Sun close up, and Louiso last of the forward division. Night Light drew away, and entered the straight several lengths ahead of Fossil, who fell back, and Louise was moving up, but Nigbt Light by eight lengths. Time, 6min 47sec. Balaklava Stakes, 9 furlongs.—Nobel 1, Sweet Bird 2, Kerlic 3. _ Von by three-quarters ef a length. Time, Imm * Wilgah Flat Race, 1 mile 7 furlongs and 64 yards. —Haeremai 1. Confederate 2, Kyappa 3. Won by five lengths. Time, 3min 32|sec. ADELAIDE GRAND NATIONAL. ADELAIDE, August 8. The Grand National Hurdle Race resulted as follows: Deception ’ A Thorriny j. San Toy . ** Mornington Plate —Francis 1, Golden Cairn 2, Siege Moi 3. Won by a length. Time, Imin 45sec.
