DIFFICULTY OF TEACHING ENGLISH. A TEACHER’S REPORT. United Press Association— Copyright. SYDNEY, August 9. The report of the principal teacher in Norfolk Island states that the difficulties in the way of'teaching English are peculiarly great. The familiar vehicle of expression is an island patois. To many children correct English is a foreign tongue, and has to be learned as such. He pays a tribute to the scholars for their regular attendance. The gross enrolment is. .164, and the average attendance 136. ‘
