DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE
(Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, August 10. John Ryan, aged 62, a farmer at Whakatu, was found dead, sitting on harrows which, he had been working. He was suffering from heart disease. DEATH FROM CHLOROFORM. HAWERA, August 10. Andrew Parker, six years of age, died yesterday whilst under chloroform for a slight operation. His heart was quite sound. The doctors said it was one of those unexplained cases in which a patient cannot take chloroform.
DEATH IN AN AMBULANCE. WELLINGTON, August 10. _ Arthur Wellesley Fodeu, aged 56 years, died in an ambulance this morning while being removed from Karori (where lie had been living with relatives) to the hospital.
ACCIDENT TO GENTLEMAN RIDER
CHRISTCHURCH, August 10. Mr. Gray, a gentleman rider from Auckland, whilst riding Ben Fortune in the Hunters’ Hurdle Race Handicap at Riccarton to-day, received injuries which necessitated his removal to the hospital. Ben Fortune fell when . attempting to jump the first set of hurdles, and Mr. Gray was thrown. At the hospital it was found that some of liis ribs had been fractured.
