The vessel was at sea for over twelve hours, and the trials were completely successful, everything working smoothly, and a speed of knots per hour being attained, thus exceeding the intended speed by 1 \ knots. The vessel is intended to carry trains across the Baltic Sea, and is remarkable -for the length of voyage she will accomplish. Usually train-carrying vessels only proceed short distances, but in this case the voyage takes place between Sassnitz in Germany and Trelleborg in Sweden, a distance of sixty L five nautical miles, and across a sea which at times is very rough. The length of the vessel is 370 feet and her width is about 51 ieet. She is fitted with twin screws, and triple-ex-pansion engines supplied by steam from four boilers under forced draught. The sliip is divided into a great number of watertight compartments. She is also fitted with a submarine signal installation. It is expected that the vessel will complete the journey between Trelleborg and Sassnitz in four hours.
