The Grand Duchess Elisabeth, widow of the murdered Grand Dube oergius, and sister of the Czaritsa, has formally founded at Moscow an Order of White Nuns, and accepted the dignity of abess of the convent. In a recent case in England, Mr. Sitoll, of Moss and Stoll, said the salaries paid to performers by companies of which he was managing director amounted to £350,000 a year, and the salaries of those responsible for the vaudeville houses in which they ap-. peared to £147,000 per annum.
