United Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, August 13. ' Miss Muriel Matters, a leading suffragette, has arranged to make a lecturing tour of Australia.
[Miss Muriel Matters is an Adelaide lady who has shown herself to be possessed of great intellectual powers. As a public school girl she won a scholarship which entitled her to admission to the Adelaide University. While at the University she won the Elder Scholarship, equal to £IOOO. She then went to London to study music and elocution, and in 1903 returned to Adelaide to take up the position of Lecturer on Elocution in the Elder Conservatorium. She is an accomplished public speaker and a talented reciter, possessing a voice of wonderful resonance, mellowness and flexibility. She resigned the position at the Elder Conservatorium about two years ago to go to London, w r here she has taken a prominent part in the Women’s Suffrage movement.]
