HORSE SALES.,
Messrs Williams and Kettle, Ltd., only yarded 12 horses at their weekly sale on Saturday. All sold well, hacks realising from £6 to £B, and a nice harness horse £l6. The black Arab stallion Waimarama was sold to Mr. G. Falkner for 29 gutneas. PRODUCE SALES. Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co., auctioneers, report the following prices realised at tfieir produce sales on Saturday:—Fowls Is 9d to 2s 3d, roosters 2s to 2s 4d, turkeys 4s 6d to os 9d, eggs lOd to lid doz, butter lid to Is lb, potatoes 6s to 7s, onions 7s 6d cwt, with supplies scarce, oranges 8d doz, lemons 6d doz, pears 4s 6d case, cabbages 2s doz, small vegetables at usual prices. A successful sale of pot plants was also held. GISBORNE EXPORTS. / The exports from the port of Gisborne during the month of July were: 15,289 cwt of beef, valued at £15,842; 20,542 carcases of mutton, weighing 9919 cwt, valued at £10,543; 7286 carcases of lamb, weighing 2123 cwt, valued £3282; 2614 hides, valued at £3172; 29,172 skins, valued at £2963; 218 tons tallow, valued at £4128; and 567,6001 b of tvool, valued at £19,567. Weddell’s annual review anticipates that prices for butter in the coming season will he rather lower than last season, if Australian exports are equal to present expectations. The wheat market is steadier, with little inquiry for cargoes. Hemp is quiet, but firm. Copra is dull. A few small transactions have taken place in South Sea, in bags, at 21s. Copper: Spot £59 18s 9d; three months, £6O 16s 3d. Tin: Spot, £135; three months, £136 10s. • Lead: £l2 6s 3d.
